Missing a tooth? You don't have to live with the gap
Dental Implants in Jodhpur
An implant gives you the tooth back. It is fixed into the jawbone, not resting on the gum. You eat what you like, you laugh without covering your mouth, and nothing comes out at night. Most patients tell us afterwards that they simply stopped noticing it was there.
The starting price includes a basic crown, and you can upgrade the crown to suit your budget. The final figure depends on the implant system, how many you need, and whether the bone needs building up first, so we scan before we quote.
Two main procedures, three to six months apart, plus reviews. How our pricing works
- It does not come outFixed into the bone and cleaned like a normal tooth. No adhesive, no clicking, nothing to take out at night.
- Your healthy teeth are left aloneUnlike a bridge, nothing sound gets filed down to support it.
- It stops the bone shrinkingA gap lets the jawbone shrink away. Over the years, that changes the shape of the face around the mouth. An implant keeps the bone working and largely prevents this.
- Often decades, sometimes for lifeImplants do not decay. Keep your gums healthy and avoid tobacco, and they tend to outlast everything else in the mouth.

What usually stops people asking
- “It will be too expensive.”
- It is a serious amount of money, and we will not pretend otherwise. But you can ask the price on WhatsApp before travelling anywhere, and treatment can usually be done in stages so you do not pay it all at once.
- “I am frightened it will hurt.”
- It is done under local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure, not pain. Afterwards there are two to three days of soreness that ordinary painkillers handle. Most patients say a difficult extraction was worse.
- “Another clinic said I have too little bone.”
- That is the most common reason people are turned away, and often it is not the end of the road. Grafting, sinus lifts and angled placement are all done here. Bring your X-ray and we will give you a straight answer.
No obligation. Many people ask, get an answer, and decide later.

An implant is a titanium screw placed in the jawbone, where the root of the missing tooth used to be. Bone grows onto titanium and locks it in place. A crown is then fixed on top. It does not come out, it does not involve touching the teeth next to it, and you look after it exactly like a normal tooth.
There is a second reason implants matter, and patients are rarely told about it. Where a tooth is lost, the jawbone starts to shrink, because nothing is putting pressure on it any more. Over the years, that changes the shape of the face around the mouth. An implant keeps the bone working and largely stops that.
At our clinic, implants are placed by Dr Suveet Mathur, an MDS oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a fellowship in immediate loading. With immediate loading, the implant and a temporary tooth go in during the same procedure, so you do not wait months with a gap.
Dental implants: what is involved
- 1
Assessment and X-ray
We check the height and width of the bone, and where the nerve and sinus are. This tells us whether a graft is needed.
- 2
Placement
The implant is placed under local anaesthetic. Most patients are surprised how simple the appointment is.
- 3
Healing
Three to six months for the bone to fuse with the implant. With immediate loading, a temporary tooth is fitted straight away, so you are never without one.
- 4
Crown fitting
The permanent crown is made to match your other teeth and fixed onto the implant.
Implant, bridge or denture: which is right for a missing tooth?
There are three ways to replace a missing tooth, and each suits a different situation. An implant replaces the root and stands on its own. A bridge is fixed to the teeth on either side, which have to be filed down to hold it. A denture is removable and rests on the gum.
An implant costs the most at the start, but it leaves your healthy teeth untouched and keeps the jawbone from shrinking. A bridge is quicker and costs less, and makes sense when the teeth either side already need crowns. A denture costs least and suits several missing teeth in someone who cannot have surgery, though it moves when you eat and needs replacing every few years.
- Implant: fixed, nothing filed down, protects the bone, highest upfront cost, 3 to 6 months start to finish.
- Bridge: fixed, neighbouring teeth are filed down, about 2 weeks, typically replaced after 10 to 15 years.
- Denture: removable, lowest cost, quickest, can move while eating, the bone underneath keeps shrinking.
Age, diabetes, heart conditions and other health questions
There is no upper age limit for dental implants. What matters is general health and enough bone, not the date of birth, and patients in their 70s and 80s have implants routinely. The lower limit is when the jaw has stopped growing, usually around 18, sometimes a little later in young men.
Diabetes does not rule out implants if it is well controlled. Poorly controlled blood sugar slows healing and raises the risk of the implant failing, so we may ask for a recent HbA1c test and plan around it. Heart patients and people on blood thinners can usually have implants too; we check with your physician first, and you should never stop a medicine on your own.
Smoking and gutkha are the habits that matter most. Both reduce blood flow to the gum and bone, and both raise the failure rate. Stopping before treatment and staying off tobacco afterwards is the single biggest thing a patient can do for an implant.
Are dental implants safe? MRI scans, airports and metal
Dental implants are made of titanium or titanium alloy, a metal that has been used in medicine for over 50 years because the body accepts it and bone grows onto it. Titanium is not magnetic, so dental implants are generally safe in MRI scanners; always tell the radiographer you have them, as they can slightly blur images of the jaw. Implants very rarely set off airport metal detectors.
True titanium allergy is very rare. If you have a known metal allergy, tell us at the first visit so the surgeon can plan around it.
Dental implants in Jodhpur — common questions
Is a dental implant painful?
A dental implant is placed under local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure, not pain, during the procedure. Afterwards expect 2 to 3 days of soreness and some swelling, which ordinary painkillers manage. Most patients at Pain-Off Dental Care in Jodhpur say it was easier than a difficult tooth extraction.
How long do dental implants last? (Implant kitne saal chalta hai?)
Dental implants usually last decades, and often for life. A 2019 systematic review in the Journal of Dentistry found about 96 percent of implants were still in place after 10 years. The crown on top may need replacing after 15 to 20 years. Gum disease and smoking are the main reasons implants fail.
How much does a dental implant cost in Jodhpur?
Dental implants at Pain-Off Dental Care in Sardarpura, Jodhpur start at Rs 14,000 to Rs 18,000 per implant, depending on the implant system, including a basic crown on top. You can choose an upgraded crown to suit your budget. Bone grafting, if needed, is extra. You get a written quote after the X-ray that names the implant system.
How long does the whole implant process take?
A standard dental implant takes 3 to 6 months from placement to the final crown, because the bone needs that long to fuse with the titanium. The procedure to place one implant takes about an hour. If bone grafting is needed first, add 3 to 6 months. With immediate loading, a temporary tooth is fitted the same day.
Can I get a dental implant on the same day the tooth is removed?
Sometimes, an immediate implant can be placed at the same appointment as the extraction if there is no active infection and enough solid bone to hold it firmly. When it is possible, it saves months with a gap. At Pain-Off Dental Care, Dr Suveet Mathur can only confirm this after the X-ray.
What is the right age for a dental implant?
Dental implants can be placed once the jaw has stopped growing, usually from about 18. There is no upper age limit: patients in their 70s and 80s have implants when their general health and bone allow. Age matters less than gum health, bone volume and conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes.
Can diabetic patients get dental implants?
Yes, people with diabetes can get dental implants if their blood sugar is well controlled. Poorly controlled diabetes slows healing and raises the risk of implant failure, so the surgeon may ask for a recent HbA1c result before planning treatment. Keep taking your diabetes medicines as prescribed unless your own doctor advises otherwise.
Is an implant better than a bridge or denture?
A dental implant is usually the best long-term option for a single missing tooth, because it stands on its own and protects the jawbone. A bridge needs the teeth on either side filed down. A denture is cheapest but removable. Which suits you depends on your bone, your other teeth and your budget.
What if I do not have enough bone for an implant?
Not having enough bone is common where a tooth has been missing for years, and it rarely rules out an implant. Bone grafting or a sinus lift rebuilds the area first, adding 3 to 6 months. At Pain-Off Dental Care in Jodhpur, Dr Suveet Mathur, an MDS oral and maxillofacial surgeon, does both in-house.
What should I eat after a dental implant? (Implant ke baad kya khayein?)
For the first few days after a dental implant, eat soft, lukewarm food: dal, khichdi, curd, soup, mashed potato and soaked roti. Avoid very hot food, spicy food, nuts and anything hard on the implant side, and do not smoke or drink through a straw. Most people are back to normal food within one to two weeks.
