Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr Suveet Mathur
BDS, MDS — Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a fellowship in immediate loading implants. Handles the surgical cases other Jodhpur clinics refer out.
Qualifications
- BDS, MDS — Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- FAOI — Fellowship, Academy of Oral Implantology
- Fellowship in immediate loading implants
- Oral rehabilitation
Dr Suveet Mathur is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon — a dental surgeon who has completed a master's degree (MDS) in surgery of the mouth, jaws and face. That is a different qualification from a general dentist's BDS. It is what allows him to take on the cases that most clinics refer elsewhere: impacted wisdom teeth sitting on a nerve, jaw fractures, cysts and facial bone surgery.
He holds a Fellowship of the Academy of Oral Implantology (FAOI) and a fellowship in immediate loading, the technique where an implant and a temporary tooth are placed in the same visit rather than months apart. He also leads the clinic's full-mouth rehabilitation work.
Where several teeth are missing or failing at once, he plans the case as full mouth implants rather than replacing teeth one at a time. Over the years this usually costs less, and gives a better bite, than a series of separate repairs.
Dentists across Jodhpur call him in to operate on their own patients. If you are a practitioner with a surgical case you would rather not take on, the referral page sets out how that works.

Treatments led by Dr Suveet
Dental Implants
A titanium root placed in the jawbone that holds a permanent replacement tooth — the closest thing to getting the original back.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Including impacted teeth and teeth lying sideways — the cases general clinics send elsewhere, done here by a maxillofacial surgeon.
Jaw & Facial Bone Surgery
Corrective jaw surgery, facial fractures, cysts and TMJ problems, handled by an MDS oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
Oral Surgery & Cysts
Cysts, biopsies, apicoectomy, frenectomy and the minor surgical procedures that general clinics refer elsewhere.
Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift
Rebuilds the jawbone where it has shrunk, so an implant can go in where it otherwise could not.
Full Mouth Dental Implants
A fixed set of teeth on four to six implants — for a mouth where most teeth are missing, failing, or already in a denture.
TMJ & Jaw Joint Treatment
For jaws that click, lock or ache — and for the night-time grinding that is often behind them.
PRP Treatment for Face & Hair
Platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood, used to support facial skin and hair — and to speed healing after oral surgery.
Questions about seeing a maxillofacial surgeon
What does an oral and maxillofacial surgeon do that a dentist does not?
A general dentist holds a BDS. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon has also completed a three-year MDS in surgery of the mouth, jaws and face, and operates on facial bone. That covers impacted wisdom teeth close to the nerve, jaw fractures, cysts and tumours in the jaw, corrective jaw surgery and complex implant cases. Most dental clinics refer this work elsewhere.
Do I need a referral from my dentist to see Dr Suveet?
No. You can book directly. Many patients come on their own dentist's advice, but you do not need that. Just message us and tell us the problem.
How does a private maxillofacial surgeon compare with AIIMS Jodhpur?
AIIMS is an excellent institution. For some cases, particularly major reconstruction or anything that needs a longer hospital stay, it is the right place, and we will tell you so. A private clinic differs in three ways: shorter waiting times, the same surgeon at every visit, and appointment times that fit around your work. We are happy to give you a straight opinion on which route suits your case.
Is Dr Suveet available to operate at other clinics?
Yes. He works as a visiting surgeon for dental clinics across Jodhpur that would rather not take on a surgical case themselves. Dentists can find the details on the referral page.
Will surgery be done under general or local anaesthetic?
Most procedures, including impacted wisdom teeth, implants and bone grafting, are done under local anaesthetic in the clinic. You will be numb, so you feel pressure, not pain. Major corrective jaw surgery is done in a hospital under general anaesthetic. We tell you which applies to you before you commit to anything.
Been told you need a surgeon?
Send us the details and any X-rays you already have. Dr Suveet will tell you what is involved, what it would cost, and whether surgery is really the right answer for you.
